What You Will Need To Get Started

You may already know what a v-log or video blog is. Now you might want to start up your own. It may look difficult and technical, but in fact it is easy. There are various things that you need in order to start a video blog. The basic component, of course, is a computer which can run the most up to date type of software. Video blogs can use a lot of process power and you want to make sure that you’ve got the best power and display that you can afford. Whether you run a PC or a Macintosh, you will want to have a fairly up to date operating system otherwise you can find that you run in to problems.

The other thing that is necessary, of course, is a video camera. There are various types and in fact you can even use a web cam. It would be advisable, however, to invest in a digital camera which will give you ease of use and the most appropriate medium in which to work with. Other things, such as analog cameras, can be used but you’re just creating more work for yourself. In order to upload your video to a video blog, you will need to be connected to the internet and, of course, you will need blogging software where you can upload it to. A broad band connection is almost mandatory although other types of internet connections such as cable or DSL will work well. If you have a dial-up connection, then upgrade as soon as possible because this will be unsuitable for video blogging. You will need to be able to watch your video blogs on your computer; for this you will need appropriate software. Most computers have, already installed, either Windows Media Player or Apple QuickTime. If not, they can both be downloaded free of charge.

The final thing that you will need to think about is some video editing software so that you can edit your blog. Most computers either have Apple I-Movie or Windows Movie Maker. These will do the job perfectly and adequately in the early stages.

Blog Video Editor - Make it Easy to Video Blog!

Blog video - the newest form of blogging! There is no doubt that video is taking the web by storm, especially with web 2.0 (I still can't get a clear definition of this, but it basically means people are forming little communities online).

Having used some blog sites that were easy enough, adding video to them was quite difficult or not even an option with some. I use blogging to get traffic to my web sites, and I also use video to -

1- build trust with my viewer2 - demo products or services3 - fun!
People will remember far more of what they see and hear together, so if you have a business message video is fast going to become the norm. Be ahead of the game now and have the edge.

To edit your blogs you could try the service I use, which for a small fee actually gives you so many more features that I won't go into here. It transcodes my videos into streaming media and hosts it for me. If I want to edit my video here I use Windows Movie Maker, which makes it very easy to add transitions, merge 2 or more video clips and add text.
Everything is click and drag which is so easy I can use it!

If you are unlucky enough to be using another form blog site and want to add video then you have a much harder job of knowing which video is where and editing it. Again, Windows movie maker would be the preferred choice - it's free and pretty effective.
You can take a look at a demo video email I made here, and then continue on to my blog. http://videoemail.helloworld.com/

How to Get 4000 Unique Visitors

There is this guy called Musclyjerk who is getting almost 4k unique visitors per day. He is at least saving $700 on adwords to generate that kind of blog traffic.
How can he generate this kind of blog traffic and how can you do the same? Since video sharing sites are becoming more popular, it is more viable to generate blog traffic from videos.

There are studies that have shown that video expedites buying decisions by 72% and Recent case studies indicate that 97% of videos are watched at some point. Some studies suggest that as many as 94% of video direct-marketing recipients will pass their copy along to another viewer.

All of this means its excellent for attracting some blog traffic. Its definitely brings more interesting a unique content to your blog. Ever since youtube announced it profit sharing plans on their adsense earnings. Now not only do get to blog traffic for free, you can get some returns as well.

Posting your videos on youtube and google video have an obvious benefit. Since Google is the parent company for both, the videos hosted on these two sites are ranked higher on Google Video Search. This means more potential viewers for your videos and higher blog traffic.
So I would suggest that if one wants to start generating some excellent targeted blog traffic then you should start shooting and uploading “how to” videos in your niche. The greatest benefit I find so far is how video sharing sites are helping bloggers to generate free blog traffic.

How Do I Upload Video to My Blog?

So you want to put video on the web? Maybe you want to share a video of your son with your buddy from college. Maybe gramma lives hundreds of miles from her granddaughter's crib so you want to upload your video to the web for easy, anytime viewing.

Or maybe you just captured your cat in a ridiculous act and you're thinking, "I can't wait to upload this video to my blog!" But then you sigh: "How do I upload video to my blog?" You've heard how easy it is supposed to be to stream video online, but you don't have any idea where to start.

Perhaps even blogs intimidate you... but you still want to share your life with your loved ones with the ease and satisfaction only web video can provide.
I'll explain some basics and then send you off to enjoy the fruits of your own life.
First you need to have your video on your computer. I'll cover this quickly because this will largely depend on your camera. Please see your camera's manual for details. If you already know how to do this and you just want to upload video to your blog, just skip these three steps and read further below.

1. Record the video with a standard digital camera.2. Plug your camera into your computer with the USB cord.3. Now you can transfer the video file from your camera to your hard drive.
Now you need to convert and upload your video to a website or blog. Typically, this involves the following steps:

1. Convert the file to a format that can easily be uploaded, like SWF, using tools like Quicktime or VirtualDub.

2. Upload the video to your web host if you have a website or blog host if you have a blog.

3. Put the HTML code in your website or install the plugin for your blog to be able to stream the video online.

Wait!
That isn't very easy, is it? The truth is that there is no magic explanation for making this easy. But there is an application that can make it easier to put video on the web than it is to read this article. Visit my friend's blog below and he'll provide an incredibly easy and fun solution to your needs.

Video Blogging For Profit

People are already making a profit from their blogs, and video blogs (aka vlogs) are in line to be the new way of making money online. Blogging has been adopted by the business sector as well for its ability to inform, update and engage customers and clients. As video blogging becomes more mainstream and Internet video popularity grows, so will the demand for video blogging services. As of right now, there are two directions you can go to generate profits with video blogging.

Video Blogging Services
It takes a lot more time to create and edit video for a video blog. That’s bad news for a time-crunched business owner, but good news for net-savvy videographers. Ideas for how companies could utilize a video blog are similar to how they could benefit from implementing streaming video on their website. A politician could effectively use a video blog during a campaign, or small businesses could use a video blog to educate customers and generate interest. The sky is the limit! Your challenge is to present that need to prospective clients.

Launch Your Own Video Blog
The other direction to take in video blogging for profit is to launch your own. A vlog would be particularly useful to a videographer marketing his/her services. You could also launch a video blog covering a certain issue or topic, or take a more creative approach to telling a story. Again, the sky is the limit. Revenue would be created with text ads on the blog itself (ie: Google Adwords) or as your vlog becomes more popular, you could sell ad space in the video clips themselves. Charging a subscription fee is another option, although not one that works well on the web in most cases.

Video blogs such as Rocketboom and Blip.tv have already gained a large following on the web. They are positioned to reap the commercial benefits of the medium by selling ad space. As video blogging evolves and gains mainstream acceptance, it will become the next Internet entrepreneurial frontier.

Why Start A Videoblog

You may wish to consider why you would want to start a video blog. It is not for me or anybody else to tell you the reasons why you should do this—you will have your own ideas, thoughts, and expectations.

If you’re starting off with a personal video blog, then you will want to talk about things that are specifically relevant to you, your life, and your environment. Do you have particular interests or skills? Are you involved with any online groups or activities? Do you have any particular interests in your local community or in the wider region where you live or work?

By using a video blog, you can keep a record of your interests in your life. These can be shared with anybody that you wish to share them with—even the whole world! Before long after you start your video blog you will find new inspirations and directions. You may even find that you will be doing things that you have never done before.

Video blogging has a habit of increasing your energies and focusing your attentions on things that you may not have noticed previously. There is no right or wrong way to run a video blog – a personal video blog is just that, personal to you. It helps, of course, to choose something you have an interest in. But even if you don’t or even if your interest is just developing, before long you will develop an interest and the more you video blog, the more you will want to get a hold of the world around you and the interests in which you have and wish to share.

Your video blogs don’t have to long epics. In fact, they are better if they are not long and drawn out. Unlike television where you have to sit through several minutes of presentation, a video blog is more effective if it is short and to the point.
